No. Do not switch installation families solely because one surface displays a newer version number earlier. Microsoft Store and direct desktop distribution are separate package families with different system integration boundaries. Maintain your existing distribution source unless Vowise publishes a specific migration instruction.

To update a direct APK installation, visit the official Vowise Download page, download the latest verified .apk file, and install it on your device. Android will apply the update over your existing installation without deleting your local notes. Never download APK files from third-party websites.

Check the official Vowise Download page for the current Linux AppImage release and compare it with the version shown in your app's About screen. Download the new .AppImage file, make it executable (chmod +x), and run it. Do not assume the AppImage self-updates in the background unless explicitly confirmed for your build.
